Highland Toy Swap
To create this Awakened Learning hub and my life as a Spiritual Teacher, I have had to streamline my time and resources. As an unsupported single mum, it was mindless that I was spending so much money on toys for my son to receive very little financial return for them as he outgrew them. Selling on Facebook Marketplace with the vast amount of time wasted with photographing, posting and ‘no shows’ from potential buyers all for a measley £5-10 was energy and time sapping (and I do not have space in my life for anything which diminishes either of those vital resources!)

Economy of Toys
Why not create a circular economy of toys across our region? When our children reach age 2 for example, we bring all their toys in to the Toy Swap and upgrade them for age 2-5 year old toys, and when they reach 5, we upgrade them to age 6-8 toys and so on. I am not suggesting we never buy any new toys, but rather just that many more toys will be recycled AND we recycle our hard-earned money several times over!
It takes several thousands of pounds to bring up a child; in this way, we would help put an end to the poverty in families. If toy-swapping/upgrading simply became the norm, then parents would spend an initial outlay of money when a child is born and then keep recycling the money over and over again until the child was perhaps around 10 years old. How much money could we save?
